Set in 200 acres of private North Yorkshire countryside is The Coach House at Middleton Lodge, a boutique hotel and restaurant, where you and a special guest will have the exclusive chance to win a cosy night away, a scrumptious dinner for two and a gorgeous massage by British beauty brand, Kiss The Moon, along with a bottle of wine to be served with your dinner.
The Coach House at Middleton Lodge was restored from the original carriage house, which served the 18th century Georgian country mansion on the estate. Full of original character, The Coach House has nine individual bedrooms, all designed to reflect the heritage of the Georgian country estate. Located just a two-minute walk from the restaurant, there are a further six bedrooms in the restored Farmhouse, alongside a private living area for residents.
During the day, take a walk along the woodland trail or pick up one of the hotel’s bicycles to explore the grounds. Fancy an afternoon of relaxation; unwind in The Treatment Rooms with its menu of natural, holistic facial and body treatments from VOYA, REN and Kiss The Moon. For dinner, visit The Coach House Restaurant focusing on a local seasonal menu. Expect to see produce grown in the restored Kitchen Garden and the estate’s woodlands and grounds, all making their way onto your plate.
After your meal, take a trip to bar, with its exposed bricks, invitingly slouchy chairs and open fires, your biggest decision will be what to order, a local beer, glass of one of their carefully chosen wines or maybe it’s time for one of The Coach House’s signature cocktails? Can’t decide? Try them all, don’t worry your secret is safe with us….
If Italian food is your idea of #foodgoals then look no further than Padella, our pick for out-of-this-world Italian food! We first stumbled across Padella when were in Borough market looking for something delicious to eat for lunch and oh boy did we stumble across a goodie! Serving a carb-lovers menu of pasta, pizza and bread we all left in a blissful food coma.
So if you fancy triple carbing (like we did), then our recommendation has got to be Sourdough bread with Firano Olive Oil and castlevertrano olives for starters, Gnocchi with sage & nutmeg butter for mains and salted caramel gelato for dessert… YUM BLOODY YUM! With an exquisite choice of wines too, it’s hard to not go a little bit crazy! A brilliant place to sit back and watch London go by, we think that Padella would make a great lunchtime date choice.
Not in London?! Then check out these Italian restaurants near you: Cucina, Edinburgh | Rudys, Manchester | The Italian Club, Liverpool | The Pasta Factory, Manchester | Salvo’s, Leeds | Franco Manca, Brighton | Coppi, Belfast | Piattino, Bath | Eusebi, Glasgow | Lanterna Ristorante, Scarborough
International Women’s Day is on Thursday the 8th of March and as RSG is a business founded and run by two women – we certainly will be celebrating! Events, marches and other campaigns will be running on the day, but we think a particularly great way to celebrate would be to attend the Women Of the World Festival.
Honouring all women of every age, gender, sexuality and race, Women Of The World Festival will be on from the 7th to the 11th of March at the Southbank Centre, London. A festival with a global network, the Women of The World Festival will celebrate what has been achieved as well as exploring the ways we can change the world for the better. On the 100th anniversary, since women got the vote in the UK, this festival will be particularly poignant this year and will bring together, artists, writers, actors, politicians, comedians, activists and more with a number of events and talks that cater to adults and children.
Our top highlights include the Stand Up Stand Out comedy workshops – teaching you the techniques of how stand-up can improve your confidence and communication skills in every situation with this comedy workshop; Mum-to-Mum speed mentoring – a bit like speed dating, but instead mother’s share their challenges and advise on parenting; the Under 10’s Feminist Corner – An interactive workshop for girls and boys under 10 to learn about feminism; and the Women In Creative Industries Day – Join women and men from across the creative industries to discuss why gender equality in our sector matters so much, celebrate the vital role women play in the industry and investigate what we have to do to level the playing field.
Other highlights of the festival include… The Butch Monologues | Diversify | We Don’t Need No Sexist Education | Good Girl | A Brave New Age Of Business | Manwatching | Teens Talk Back | Being Your Own Boss: Speed Mentoring | Women, Drumbeats and Self Care: A Twerkshop
An educational programme for children, Rockett St George is supporting the wonderful charity rafi + friends this March! Supporting refugees through creative projects, rafi + friends educational programme includes the book ‘Rafi The Refugee Rabbit’ which tells a simple story of hope and encourages understanding, tolerance and kindness. Together with art based workshops, the aim of the project is to connect refugee children with other children through their homes and dreams. The book and workshop are being distributed to primary schools throughout the UK and to children in refugee camps in Europe.
As part of rafi + friends latest creative campaign, they will be hosting a fun, inspiring and interactive evening of photography, film, music, poetry, storytelling & refreshments at The Curtain Hotel, Shoreditch. The art party will also be featuring a photographic exhibition of Elena Givone’s images of rafi + friends visit to Ritsona Refugee camp in Greece and children from schools in the UK who have participated in their workshops. Set to be a lively evening, you can book your tickets via their Eventbrite page.
